Why we share our faith with others.

You see a child playing in the road with a toy completely oblivious to a truck coming fast towards him. Oh NO! You’re filled with panic; you have to act fast if you’re going to save him. Your love for children compels you to run out in the road and warn them! It’s not some sort of gift that you have been given it’s your duty! You don’t have time to let someone else do it, like it’s not your job. You’re the only one in that exact spot at that moment. God put you there to reach him.

You love children and you hate the idea of a truck running them down. You go out there to pull the child to safety but you’re too weak and frail to actually remove him from the road. The child doesn’t believe in trucks. You tell him of the consequences of what will happen if he doesn’t get off the road fast, that the truck will actually kill him. You plead with him with tears in your eyes. Thankfully, the child takes heed to your warning and gets off the road before the truck got there. The child saw the genuine fear for his predicament on your face and your clear concern for his safety. He listens to you and is thankful you loved him enough to warn him. He moves quickly off the road to safety.

The truck is death and judgment. The child on the road is anyone who is not reconciled to God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The responsibility of warning that child to get out of the road is everyone's. It's not a spiritual gift to urge him to get off the road. It's a duty of those with compassion, those children who were once on that road but were saved by the grace of God, through faith not of themselves so they don't get credit for it, God does.

Evangelist may train others how to share their faith, but everyone with compassion for others will have the desire to help bring others to the safety of Jesus Christ.

Until the nets are full, working toward the plentiful harvest !
